Fred is survived by his wife, Betty Lou; his three children Freddy Newcomb, MD, Laurie Wilson and her husband, Tom, Gary Newcomb; and two grandchildren, Sterling Wilson and Sheppard Wilson. Also surviving is his beloved Labrador, Bear. Condolences to the family, I have great memories working with Fred back at Duke Power in the early years. We ran into him later by chance at the Panther super bowl in Houston and had a great time re- visiting. A class act!.

We have known Fred for many years. He was a man with a quiet manner and an easy disposition. My husband enjoyed many years on the tennis court playing with and against him. He was a good athlete. He will be missed by family and friends.
