My brother Howard, Barbara, Hilda and I grew up in the New Hope community south of Whiteville, went to the same school, rode the same bus & often rode together to the WHS football games.. I am saddened to learn of her death. May she Rest In Peace.

My sister Stella and Hilda were best friends. I being much younger ? tagged along with them wherever they went. Hilda was always very sweet and kind to me. We later found each other on FB and In Charlotte. God’s Love will see you through this shock and grief ❤️

I am so sorry to learn of Hilda’s death. We grew up together, were neighbors, church friends and school friends. Her sister Barbara and I graduated high school the same year. It hasn’t been long since she and I were communicating on Facebook. I had no idea she was sick. Please accept my sincere sympathy and know how saddened this makes me.

Hilda and I grew up together. Her family lived less than a half mile away in the New Hope community of Columbus County NC. I always think of her as I pass her family home. She was always so bright and cheerful and pleasant to be with. Her piano skills were truly outstanding as Mrs. Ulrich, our piano teacher, always gave her the top award. One day after piano lessons in New Hope Elementary School, for some reason she asked me if I would roll her down the hallway in one of the trash barrels which I did and it ended up crashing over.......just kids being kids. We then walked home from school which was about 3 miles. Rest in peace now, dear sweet Hilda. You were truly a blessing to all from God and I hope one day in heaven you and I can rekindle our friendship.
