Dear Bertelsen Family, I was sad to hear of Ferne’s passing. But I smile when I think of all the times spent at your house in Columbiana. The patience your mom had when we were wild kids. Coming over at Christmas and the many escapades water skiing at Berlin! And then there was the time she drove with me to the Pittsburgh airport to pick up my parents - old highway 51, night time, pea soup fog, she hung her head out the passenger window and told me if I was over the white line. It was the only line we could see and the only way we made it there safely!
I respected and admired your mother and am glad I was able to spend time with her. My thoughts are with your family. Anne Young
