Sara "Sally" Williamson Porter

CHARLOTTE - Sara “Sally” Williamson Porter, 66, of Charlotte passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 11, 2018 surrounded by her family.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Sister Williamson. Sally was born January 17, 1952.

Sally is survived by her loving husband, Rick, her two sons, Bryan and his wife, Nicki, and Neal, and her three adorable grandsons; Davis, Henry and Jacks.  She is also survived by her three sisters, Buffa Short, Gaye Kester and Vivi Anderson and her husband, John, six nieces and nephews and eleven great nieces and nephews.

Sally was born and raised in Charlotte and attended Myers Park High School and North Carolina State University.  She and Rick married in 1975.  Sally loved to cook and play tennis and be with her family.  She claimed her two boys were her greatest achievements and they meant the world to her. 

Sally loved spending time at their home in Blowing Rock and especially loved the many friends she met there.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, November 15, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at 2516 Monet Terrace. The memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Myers Park Presbyterian Church.  A reception will follow the service in Oxford Hall at the church. 

The family would like to thank Dr. Dan Haggstrom for his expertise and care he gave to Sally and our family over the last nine years.
