Anna Taylor King

CHARLOTTE - Anna Taylor King, 20, of Charlotte, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 after a long, brave battle with infantile Batten disease.

Taylor attended Myers Park Traditional School, The Fletcher School and Providence High School in Charlotte. She loved music, dancing, princess movies and snuggling with her dog, Sunny. Her favorite colors were purple and pink. She learned to read and write braille, participated in school talent shows and ran two 5K races with Girls on the Run after losing her vision. She lived her life with courage and joy despite facing considerable challenges. Her strength and perseverance inspired countless people around the world.

Taylor is survived by her parents, Sharon and Jim King of Charlotte, sister and brother-in-law, Laura and John Edwards of Fort Mill, her precious nephew, Jack Edwards of Fort Mill, brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Jessica King of Fort Mill, and grandfather, Jerry Jones of Greensboro. She is also survived by special aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Margaret and Parks King, Jr., of Charlotte, and Kathryn Jones, of Greensboro.

A service to celebrate Taylor’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 5, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church, 200 West Trade Street, Charlotte.  The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
