CHARLOTTE – Peggy King Smith, 91, of Charlotte, died Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Aldersgate.  A Charlotte native, Peggy was the daughter of the late John Irvin King and Denise Courtney King.  She was a graduate of Harding High School and worked for many years with the City of Charlotte water department.  She was a member of Matthews United Methodist Church and loved being with her family, telling her grandchildren memories of family, sewing and reading.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, James Buford Smith, her son, Terry James Smith and four siblings.  She is survived by a daughter, Linda Smith Turner and her husband, Bo of Charlotte; four grandchildren, Kelli Bush and husband, Jamie, Jason B. Turner and wife, Wendy, Paige Turner and Anton Smith; five great-grandchildren, Connor, Dylan and Brayden Bush and Elam and Alden Turner.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Friday, May 4, 2018 at Sunset Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 AM in the mausoleum at the cemetery.
