Pearl Shaw Hearn

CHARLOTTE – Mrs. Hearn was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on Thursday, April 12, 2018. She was the loving wife of Granville E. Hearn, Jr., Lt. Col. USAR, for over 77 years. Pearl was born on December 21, 1919 in Chester, Pa. She was a long-time member of Myers Park United Methodist Church and active in the Fellowship Sunday School Class for over 50 years. Pearl enjoyed her years of service with the Charity League of Charlotte where she served as President and was awarded the LaRose Grant Award for her dedication and many years of service. One of Pearl’s great loves, that she enjoyed in her later years, was golf with the 18-holers at Providence Country Club. She played her last round at the age of 95. Pearl’s love for her family and her gift of hospitality is what she will be remembered for by all those who loved her.

Pearl was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Nancy, and son in law, David Michael Cline. She is survived by her husband, Granville E. Hearn, Jr, and children Carol Kuester and her husband, Faison, Patricia Cline, and Granville E. Hearn, III and his wife, Katherine; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018 in the Francis Chapel of Myers Park United Methodist Church. A reception will immediately follow in Jubilee Hall at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Charity League of Charlotte, P. O. Box 471332, Charlotte, NC 28247.
