Nancy Marlowe Blair Clifford

Nancy Marlowe Blair Clifford, 78, passed away on January 11,2018 after a long illness. She grew up in Charlotte and was the daughter of Cicero Robert Marlowe and Claudia Louise Marlowe. Nancy graduated from Central High School, Sacred Heart College, and Pfeifer College. During her career, she worked as both a registered nurse at various hospitals and medical offices as well both an administrator and teacher at Central Piedmont Community College.

Nancy had many varied interests throughout her life. She especially loved music and creative writing. She sang in the Charlotte Oratorio Singers in the 1970s and authored a published textbook later in her career. Other hobbies included reading, photography, playing the guitar, sewing, and spending time in the mountains. “Above all else, Nancy was an exceptionally kind and compassionate person to everyone she met”

Nancy is survived by her best friend and devoted husband, Jeff Sechrist, as well as her loving son, Rob Blair, daughter in law, Susanne Blair, and grandchildren, William and David Blair. She is also survived by her brother, Wayne Marlowe and his wife, Jeanette, as well as her special niece, Jaime Marlowe Robinson and her husband, Brad, and their children, Ellie Grace, Briggs, and Hank Robinson. In addition, Nancy is survived by her step-children, Josh Sechrist and his wife, Gail, Zach Sechrist and his wife, Stacy, and Annie Sechrist.

A memorial service to celebrate Nancy’s life will be held on Monday, January 15,2018 at 2:00 PM at Dilworth United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends following the service in Langford Hall.
