Georgia Mable Autry Staton, 83, of Charlotte, NC, died January 12, 2016, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House Huntersville. Georgia was born on July 16, 1932, in Lillington, NC, daughter of the late Neil Edward Autry and Mamie Holder Autry. She has been a member of First Baptist Church of Charlotte since 1966 where she worked with the GA's for over 43 years. Georgia was a former President and member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She loved animals, Myrtle Beach and was a member of the Gideon's Auxiliary. In addition to her husband of fifty-five years, Allen Staton, Georgia is survived by a son, Eric Staton of Mooresville, NC and a daughter, Dianna Staton Moore of Cornelius, NC; and the light of her life, her granddaughter, Savanna Moore who called her "Nana". Georgia was preceded in death by her four siblings, Calvert Autry, Fran Pruitt, Jean Hickman and Billy Ray Autry. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, January 15, 2016, at First Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Harris and Reverend Michael Cummings officiating. The family will receive friends at the church for an hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
