Arthur Meadows Williams died May 21, 2016 at Novant Matthews Medical Center.

He was born in Fort Worth, Texas on Sept 8 1928, son of Mabel and Ivy Williams. Art was raised in Texas and attended North Texas State University where he majored in music. He served in World War II in the Coast Guard and later went to The North Bennet Street School for piano technology. He traveled around the world, married and had one daughter. Art worked as the head piano technician at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and later became Program Director for Central Piedmont Community College's program for piano tuning and repair. Art enjoyed playing music in a folk group called "The Night Watch" of which he was a founding member.

Art is survived by his wife of 43 years, Beverly Baum Williams; one daughter, Karen Williams Dangora and two cherished grandsons, Henry James and Wallace Paul Dangora. Art is also survived by a cousin, Helen Dye of Memphis, TN.

Funeral services will be held at a later date.
